A cultural cannibalism Papua Tribal Living Above the Tree

High above a forest land, much in the swampy lowland forests of Papua, a tree house greet the explorers of the world. Tree house in the height of more than 80 feet above the ground. This is a construction and home Kombai neighbor Korowai, tribes decorate their bodies with the bones and the cannibalism among them adapt

Tree house built with wood taken from forests around where they want to stay up with the hatchet made of stone. Home this summer to protect themselves from insects and the jungle, they also protect from flooding during the rainy season off. In addition, this house has a function as a fortress that is the place to shelter when the conflict between the tribes.

Korowai and Kombai is that different ethnic groups, each with their own language, but they manage to do and also share cultural practices that are similar. They were skilled in hunting, the hunting of prey including the cassowary and wild pig. This tribe still trade in objects such as jewelry and bone knife, and may be introduced to new ideas and metal wear in the 1970s, when the first missionaries arrived. Tools such as a sharp bamboo is used to slice meat, shells to accommodate water, and hot water in the cooking stone.

Cannibalism is also common in the history of both tribes Kombai and Korowai. To Kombai, this is a form of tribal punishment, with the only person identified as a healer, killed and eaten by the people as offerings to the soul consumed by the defendant. Cannibalism important in the world unseen, similar to the trust and Korowai may also have been done as part of their criminal justice system. Tree does not seem to be in the nature of death, but deaths caused by magic - also believed to be the cause of war between tribes.

Pigs in the culture and the Korowai tribe Kombai used in the settlement of disputes between-family, and also sacrificed in the ceremony with the complex when they leave the blood into the river as a sacrifice to a deity. Pigs play a role in the religious life of the Korowai also filled with all kinds of spirits - in the spirit of the ancestor of all those animals are sacrificed at the time of difficulty.

Indigenous party is better enjoyed by Korowai and Kombai of Sago meal is, food that is tasty grub from the Capricorn beetle, which is the result of the yield of sago palm.

Kombai expression for the tribe, the stranger who called themselves as a ghost, but ghost itself had become a concrete reality as the adventure film and keberadaanya make tourists feel they are in the region. This tradition is a tourist attraction to visit.

Just want to share about one culture in Papua I still apply cannibalism as a punishment for disorderly tribe ..

About Papua..

he indigenous people of Irian jaya are Melanesians with black skins and curly hair .
They generally have a root crop subsistence agriculture based on sweet potatoes and taro. people in the lowlands and swamps , however , obtain their starch from the sago palm which gives an extremely generous yield for remarkably little effort.

feral and domesticated ping on the island of Irian jaya from southeast Asia was an event which has han vast cultural and ritual significance for its people pigs are often treated as members of the family and are sometimes suckled by women.

In some places they also accompany women to the gardens daily when they are weaned. from the discovery of a jawbone archaeologist estimate the pig arrived about 6,500 years ago. while many other people of the world were still hunter and gatherers ,Irian people had begun to garden. after fairly recently , many of the people lived within a simple Stone Age culture wearing little clothing and decorating their bodies with painting , shells ,pig tusks ,feathers and skins. there is a plethora of languages in the province, perhaps some 250 in all, each representing a tribal group which mixes little with the others.

Some of the more remote groups still have virtually no contact whit the outside world. In recent years, Indonesians from elsewhere in the country such as Java ,Sumatra and Sulawesi have come to the province.
